Job summary

Platform Recruitment is looking for a Service Engineer to service and repair heating appliances across gas, electric and solid-fuel products on a UK-wide basis. You will travel with a fully equipped van to install, service and repair, ensuring high safety and customer-satisfying standards.

You will diagnose faults, complete reports, and promote maintenance services while coordinating with a regional team. Valid gas-safety qualifications and a full UK driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience servicing heating appliances in the field.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Gas safety qualifications including CCN1, HTR1, CONGLP1 and CPA1.
• Gas Safe registration required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness for overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Carry out warranty inspections, servicing and repairs.
• Diagnose faults and resolve issues with first-visit resolution.
• Determine root causes: manufacturing, installation or user error.
• Process chargeable servicing and on-site payments.
• Identify opportunities to promote additional servicing.
• Maintain accurate service records and write reports.
• Submit technical reports through digital systems.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance, issuing notices as needed.
• Return faulty components for investigation.
• Deliver professional customer service and represent the business.
• Support product training for retailers and staff.
• Maintain the company vehicle and keep it serviced.
