Job summary

Thornhvac Ltd near Portsmouth is seeking a Heat Pumps Engineer to provide technical support and remote assistance on heat pump systems. The role combines office-based problem solving with occasional site visits to support customers and installations.

You will work with engineers, installers and contractors, handling fault diagnosis and warranty issues while developing expertise across heating and cooling products. A hybrid role with training is offered, plus a benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experienced heat pumps or heating engineer with exposure to heat pumps in commercial and domestic buildings.
• Service/breakdown background, capable of fault diagnosis and customer support.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Full driving licence for occasional site visits.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers on heat pumps at install, commissioning and post-install stages.
• Coordinate with engineers, installers and contractors via phone, email, video calls and site visits as needed.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and process warranty claims on equipment including controllers.
• Assist in training internal staff and external partners on best practices.

THE ROLE

• Working from the office, you'll be providing support to customers with technical issues on equipment at install, commissioning and post install levels, focusing initially on heat pumps.
• Working with engineers, installers and contractors via phone, email, video calls and site visits as required.
• Providing trouble-shooting, diagnostics and warranty claims on equipment to include controls and unit controllers.
• Involved with training and advising internal staff and external partners on best practice.

THE PERSON

• Seeking an experienced heat pumps or heating Engineer with exposure to heat pumps across commercial & domestic buildings.
• Ideally coming from a service and breakdown background working as an engineer or supervisor, you'll enjoy helping customers with fault diagnosis and be comfortable working in the office rather than on-site.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Full driving licence required, as there may be occasional site visits to support customers.
