Job summary

Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust seeks a motivated Assistant Technical Officer for the Hearing Implant Centre. The role supports patients under the Adult and Paediatric Hearing Implant Services, with training provided for device programming software and department systems.

Qualifications

• Essential knowledge: A to C English & Maths or equivalent.
• Desirable knowledge: A to C in Science or equivalent; A-level/NVQ/BTEC in Health, Social Care, English or STEM.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain stock levels of hearing devices, implants, accessories and consumables.
• Provide technical support to patients to address device function issues.
• Troubleshoot device faults and liaise with manufacturers and suppliers.
• Take impressions of patients’ ears to produce new ear moulds.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team including audiologists, nurses, surgeons, therapists and admin staff.
