Job summary
Chesterfield Borough Council is seeking an experienced Healthy Homes Manager to lead our Private Sector Housing Renewal function and oversee the Disabled Facilities Grant service. You will manage a team, shape policy implementation, and drive improvements across housing standards for residents.
The role requires extensive housing knowledge, strong leadership, and robust budget and project management. Hybrid working is offered with the ability to travel within the borough.

Chesterfield Borough Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Healthy Homes Manager to lead our Private Sector Housing Renewal function.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape housing improvement initiatives across the borough while managing key programmes that support some of our most vulnerable residents.
You will lead the delivery and development of the council's Private Sector Housing Renewal Policy and oversee the administration of financial assistance programmes, including the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) service.
You will manage a team of Technical Officers and play a pivotal role in ensuring residents can remain safe, healthy, and independent within their homes.

Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders, including residents, landlords, contractors, and partner organisations.
A relevant degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience).
Management qualification or substantial management experience.

Experience of delivering Disabled Facilities Grant services.
Knowledge of Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) requirements.
Building, surveying, or related professional qualifications.
Membership of a relevant professional body.
