Job summary

Referment, a healthcare technology company, seeks a hands-on Product Engineer to take ambiguous problems from idea to production-ready features. You will work with machine-learning engineers and clinicians to deliver AI-enabled, end-to-end capabilities that affect patient care.

You will design APIs and data models, review requirements with stakeholders, and ensure robust testing for real-world clinical workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience including ownership of sizeable features from design to release.
• Strong hands-on full-stack proficiency with Python, React, and AWS.
• Product-focused mindset; startup engineer experience preferred.
• Ability to read an existing codebase, ask precise questions, and understand how changes fit the product.
• Experience with healthtech or regulated environments and data protection principles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship AI-enabled full-stack features from scoping to production release.
• Design APIs, data models and flows that remain maintainable as the product grows.
• Collaborate with machine-learning engineers and clinicians to clarify requirements and trade-offs.
• Test features thoroughly and address real-world data flows and edge cases.
• Move quickly in a startup while managing scope and technical debt.
