The role involves delivering direct care to donors during blood and blood product donation processes, ensuring high standards of clinical and customer care, and safeguarding donor and patient safety through accurate data input. Responsibilities include the safe transportation of staff and equipment across various locations, setting up community donation sessions, and performing venepunctures in accordance with nationally approved procedures. Full training will be provided.
We seek a friendly, team-oriented donor carer driver who enjoys meeting people. You should have a sound knowledge of Glasgow’s geography, be flexible with variable hours including Sundays and late evenings, and hold a 'C' licence with current CPC. The role involves both driving and donor care duties. A PVG Scheme/Disclosure Scotland check is required, and overseas criminal record checks if applicable.
Based in Glasgow and the West of Scotland, with extensive regional travel. The position involves 25 hours per week, with variable shifts including weekends and evenings. Residency within the UK is required.
