Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and committed individual to join our dynamic team on Ward 3E HPB/Colorectal/General Surgery. The environment offers opportunities to expand your experience if you are looking to pursue a career in a surgical unit setting or other avenues within the Trust. It will also provide you with vital skills in your journey as a Health Care Support Worker.

You will need to provide the highest standard of individualised and holistic patient care in conjunction with working with the multidisciplinary team, to deliver high-quality nursing care to patients and their families, in accordance with agreed policies.

Main duties of the job

The Health Care Support Worker is a member of the ward team who implements prescribed care and undertakes administrative tasks as directed by the registered nurse, including:

  1. Assisting in the provision of high-quality patient care.
  2. Ensuring patients arriving on the ward are assessed and settled within the department.
  3. Maintaining cleanliness and stock levels in the department.
  4. Facilitating the provision of food and drinks.
  5. Participating in activities/projects that contribute to improved patient care or experience.
