Job summary

Kingsley Healthcare Limited is seeking an experienced Chef to plan and deliver nutritious daily meals for residents in a care home environment. You will lead a kitchen team, ensure meals are appealing and within budget, and maintain rigorous food safety standards.

The role requires strong cooking skills, knowledge of nutrition, and the ability to train staff. Flexible hours including weekends and holidays are required, with opportunities to develop and advance within the care group.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
• Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of nutrition and ability to develop menus that meet dietary requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare daily menus that meet residents' nutritional needs.
• Prepare meals that are appetising, visually appealing, and within budget.
• Monitor food stocks and order supplies as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of food orders and inventory.
• Ensure all food is stored, prepared and served safely.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff in food preparation and service.
• Implement and maintain health and safety procedures, including proper food handling and storage.
• Keep the kitchen clean and organized, including regular deep cleaning.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
• Build positive relationships with residents and families, and respond to feedback.
