Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a chef in healthcare or hospitality.
• Excellent cooking skills and nutrition-focused menu development.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and able to maintain hygiene.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare daily menus meeting residents’ nutritional needs.
• Prepare meals within budget and ensure they are appetising and visually appealing.
• Monitor food stocks and place orders as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of food orders and inventory.
• Ensure food is stored, prepared and served safely and hygienically.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff in food preparation and service.
• Implement and maintain health and safety procedures.
• Keep the kitchen clean and organized, including deep cleaning.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
• Build positive relationships with residents and their families, responding to feedback.
