Job summary

Badby Park in Daventry is seeking a passionate Chef to join a calm, supportive kitchen team. You will work 37.5 hours weekly, preparing meals for service users, staff and visitors, and contribute to menu development while guiding peers.

The role includes catering for events and ensuring high standards in hygiene and food safety. You’ll help plan menus, manage stock and support cost control, delivering nutritious meals aligned with healthy eating guidelines.

Qualifications

• GCSE level qualification or equivalent required.
• Basic Food Hygiene training is essential.
• Understanding IDDSI framework is a plus.
• Experience in menu planning, costing and stock control.
• Prior service in a kitchen handling meals for groups.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Prepare and cook meals to consistently high standards.
• Manage food storage, stock rotation and cost control.
• Serve meals to service users, staff and visitors professionally.
• Create menus for conferences and events, keeping healthy options.
