Job summary

Elysium Healthcare in Daventry is seeking a Chef to join a dedicated kitchen team. You’ll work 37.5 hours weekly, shaping daily meals for service users, staff and visitors while delivering high-quality cuisine and guidance to peers.

You’ll manage food prep, costings and menus, comply with hygiene standards, and support events like conferences and banquets. A calm, social environment and balanced life are emphasized.

Qualifications

• GCSE English or equivalent required.
• City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 Basic Food Preparation Cooking.
• Basic Food Hygiene certification required.
• Knowledge of IDDSI framework.
• Experience in mass catering settings with menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control and budgeting.
• Experience in a similar environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Maintain food storage and stock rotation according to procedures.
• Plan and cook meals meeting dietary requirements and special requests.
• Serve users, staff and visitors in a professional manner.
• Prepare foods for conferences and banquets.
• Contribute to food costings and cost control.
• Adhere to Safer Food Better Business standards and record keeping.
• Follow Food Hygiene Regulations and safety procedures.
• Take full shift responsibility for catering operations.
• Research and create new menus aligned to healthy eating guidelines.
• File HACCP paperwork including fridge temps, logs and cleaning schedules.
