Job summary

Badby Park, operated by Elysium Healthcare, is seeking a Chef to support daily kitchen operations within a specialist neurological rehabilitation setting. You will prepare meals for service users, staff and events, assist the Head Chef, manage cost control and uphold food safety standards.

Candidates should have basic cookery and food hygiene qualifications and be able to work 37.5 hours per week with a DBS check.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 or equivalent in basic food preparation and cooking.
• GCSE English or equivalent.
• Basic Food Hygiene qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Prepare, plan and cook meals to a high standard, meeting dietary needs.
• Prepare food for conferences, banquets, events and seasonal occasions.
• Serve meals and drinks to service users, staff and visitors.
• Maintain food storage standards and stock rotation.
• Take part in food costing and cost control.
• Follow Safer Food Better Business standards and keep records.
• Follow food hygiene regulations and safety procedures.
• Take full shift responsibility for the catering operation.
• Research and create new menus that are high quality and support healthy eating guidelines.
• Filing HACCP paperwork and logs and keeping cleaning schedules.
• Providing guidance and training to kitchen colleagues.
