Job summary

Brook View Neurological Centre in Worcester is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the kitchen team in delivering nutritious, high-quality meals for residents. You will assist with food preparation, portioning, and basic cooking, while upholding food hygiene, safe storage and temperature checks.

Experience in catering or healthcare settings is beneficial. The role offers a 40-hour week, days, with DBS check, pension, uniform and 28 days leave pro-rata, plus wellbeing supports and referral

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment.
• Experience in a healthcare setting is desirable.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and health and safety requirements.
• Experience preparing meals for special dietary or texture-modified requirements is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver nutritious, high-quality meals for residents.
• Assist kitchen team with preparation, portioning and basic cooking.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safe working practices, including stock rotation and temperature checks.
• Support meals to meet nutritional or texture-modified dietary needs.
• Work with the team in a caring, respectful manner around residents.
