Brook View Neurological Centre in Worcester is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the kitchen team in preparing and delivering nutritious meals for residents. The role involves food preparation, basic cooking and ensuring diets meet individual needs, while upholding high hygiene standards.

You will work alongside chefs, supporting stock control and temperature checks, with a caring approach for residents who may have cognitive or physical challenges. This is a full-time, day-shift position.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment.
• Experience in a healthcare or care setting is desirable.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and health and safety requirements.
• Experience preparing meals for special dietary or texture-modified requirements is desirable.
• Flexible, proactive and willing to learn.
• Able to work under pressure and use initiative.
• Compassionate and respectful approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsabilités

• Assist kitchen team with preparation and delivery of meals for residents.
• Support chefs with chopping, mixing, portioning and assembling ingredients; assist with basic cooking.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safe working practices; manage stock rotation and temperature checks.
• Support dietary and Texture-modified meals to meet individual nutritional needs.
• Provide a caring and respectful environment around residents with neurological conditions.
