You’ll learn to maintain and repair healthcare building services, working with HVAC, lighting, water systems and more, under the guidance of experienced engineers.

This hands-on apprenticeship covers planned and reactive maintenance, digital maintenance logs, safety, and professional development to become a qualified Building Services Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance, inspection and repair of building services systems in healthcare facilities, helping to keep environments safe and compliant
• Assist with planned preventative maintenance activities, learning to identify issues and maintain critical equipment to prevent faults
• Work alongside qualified engineers to diagnose and resolve reactive maintenance issues, helping to restore services quickly and minimise disruption
• Gain experience with building systems including heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), water systems, lighting, power distribution and related plant equipment
• Learn to use digital maintenance systems to log completed work, record asset information and track maintenance schedules
• Build strong working relationships with colleagues, subcontractors and healthcare staff, delivering excellent customer service in a healthcare environment
• Follow Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) procedures at all times, supporting Mitie's commitment to sustainability and operational excellence
• Take part in regular training, mentoring and development activities designed to support your journey towards becoming a qualified Building Services Engineer
