Job summary

Equans is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) in Smethwick. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week with a competitive salary and benefits package.

You will respond to reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and repair complex electrical systems to standards. The role includes BMS night-shift support, training for Competent Person and Authorised Person status, and duties across emergency lighting, nurse calls, and fire

Qualifications

• Must have DBS clearance (essential).
• Experience in healthcare maintenance environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Respond to reactive jobs to diagnose, fault-find and repair complex mechanical systems in line with standards and legislation.
• Respond to BMS alerts and calls during night shifts; assess issues, allocate tasks and document actions for continuity.
• Achieve Competent Person status for LV, access control, alarms and medical gas installations.
• Become an Authorised Person after training.
• Maintain emergency lighting, nurse calls, general electrics and fire alarm systems.
