Job summary

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester is seeking Domestic Assistants to join a relief pool covering every ward and department on site, including Covid-19 and infection areas. Qualifications

• Level 1 functional skills in English and maths required.
• Experience in healthcare cleaning or domestic duties preferred.
• Basic computer literacy and good interpersonal skills expected.
• Ability to manage time and minimise disruption to departments.
• Ability to work at height and in confined spaces with PPE.
• Knowledge of infection control and COSHH is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Carry out deep cleans of equipment, furniture, fittings and surfaces across wards.
• Re-establish areas ready for use after patient decanting and support discharge cleans.
• Provide rapid-response cleaning across the site as needed.
• Discharge and infection cleans in line with local standards.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely after training and report faults.
• Assist with basic maintenance and moving equipment as required.
• Work unsociable hours, including weekends and evenings.
