Job summary

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated deep clean assistant to carry out comprehensive cleaning across patient areas, including beds and equipment, in line with infection control policies.

You will also assist with routine maintenance, waste management, and supportive portering activities, contributing to a safe and clean healthcare environment. Applicants should have basic literacy, good interpersonal skills, and a flexible approach.

Qualifications

• Level 1 functional skills in English and Maths are essential.
• Basic level of computer literacy is required.
• NVQ Level 1 in cleaning is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out deep cleans for equipment, furniture, and surfaces as directed, following infection control policies.
• Undertake routine basic maintenance to re-establish areas for use.
• Assist nursing staff with movement of patients and decanting as needed.
• Handle waste according to policies and ensure safe storage of equipment.
