Job summary

Jupiter Recruitment is seeking a talented Chef for a modern nursing home near Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. You will plan menus with residents and staff, prepare and serve meals, and ensure dietary needs are met in a luxurious, resident-focused environment.

The role is permanent full-time with day shifts; NVQ Level 2-3 is required. Benefits include a pension, comprehensive induction and paid training, enhanced bank holiday rates, recognition schemes, paid breaks, uniform provided, and DBS

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2-3 in Food preparing and catering is required.
• Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in healthcare or hospitality.
• Knowledge of nutrition and ability to meet dietary requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake menu planning in consultation with residents and Manager.
• Oversee and participate in the preparation, cooking and serving of all food.
• Ensure menus are displayed showing choices.
• Cater for special diets and cultural needs with appropriate options.
• Check stock quantities and place orders following the catering manual.
• Supervise the kitchen staff and ensure HACCP processes are followed.
• Keep food expenditure within budget in consultation with the Bursar/Home Manager.
