Job summary

NHS Scotland is recruiting Catering Assistants to join the kitchen at Royal Victoria Hospital. The role involves delivering high‑quality catering services to patients, staff and visitors while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

You must be able to work well in a team or on your own, follow instructions, and communicate effectively. The position is part‑time (18 hours per week) with shifts in the evenings and at weekends, and the salary is pro rata for part‑time hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering environments preferred.
• Ability to work in a team or on your own initiative and follow instructions.
• Good communication skills with patients, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the highest standard of catering service within the hospital for patients, staff and visitors.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and manage equipment handling.
• Be flexible to work evenings and weekend shifts; shifts end around 7pm.
