Job summary

Circle Health Group Limited is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join the Alexandra Hospital ward team in Cheadle. The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) with a flexible shift pattern and night duty involvement.

Salary up to £25,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications. The post is within Circle Health Group, Britain's leading independent healthcare provider with a nationwide network of hospitals and clinics.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, mobility and nursing tasks.
• Support eating, drinking and nutritional needs and document intake as required.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives.
• Record routine observations (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, SpO2, glucose) after training.
• Assist with wound care, catheter care and pressure area prevention.
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas and equipment for patient use.
• Collaborate with nurses, doctors, therapists and admin teams to ensure safe care.

Healthcare Assistant - Wards

The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle is part of Circle Health Group.

Contract: Permanent, 37.5 Hours per week.

Salary: Up to £25,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification.)

We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in the Pre Assessment department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the wards night duty rota.

Duties of this role include:

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity.
• Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives, creating a caring and safe environment.
• Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (after appropriate training).
• Support basic clinical procedures, including wound care setup, assisting with catheter care, pressure area prevention, and mobility aids.
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including trolleys, beds, and equipment in readiness for patient use.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin teams to support safe and efficient patient care

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
• Ability to follow instructions and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.
