Job summary

The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle, part of Circle Health Group, is hiring a Senior Registered Nurse to lead the wards team. This full-time role covers 37.5 hours per week and includes a flexible shift pattern with night duty commitments.

It offers a permanent position with salary up to £38,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. The successful applicant will provide advanced nursing care, supervise junior staff, mentor students, and uphold high safety standards across infection

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with active NMC registration.
• Significant post-registration experience in an acute or relevant clinical setting.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and support a nursing team.
• Strong clinical decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-focused approach.
• Confidence in working independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care and lead on the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for complex patients.
• Use advanced clinical knowledge to make timely and appropriate decisions, escalating where necessary.
• Provide day-to-day supervision and support to nursing and healthcare assistant staff.
• Support the learning and development of students, junior nurses, and new team members through mentoring, coaching, and clinical supervision.
• Uphold a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with infection prevention, safeguarding, medicines management, and risk reporting procedures.
• Act as a key contact for patients and their families, offering clinical updates, reassurance, and information to support shared decision-making.

Salary: Up to £38,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for an Senior Registered Nurse to join their team of staff in theWards department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the wards night duty rota.

Duties of this role include:
