The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals and clinics. We are hiring a Healthcare Assistant to join the Theatre team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This full-time role covers 37.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern. You will assist in delivering safe patient care and help prepare theatres for procedures, while developing your clinical skills through training and

• Previous clinical or healthcare support experience.
• Good verbal and written communication with a patient-centered approach.
• Willingness to undertake theatre-specific training.
• Understanding of infection control and health and safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering safe and effective care across the theatre department.
• Prepare theatres for procedures, including equipment checks and stock preparation.
• Engage with patients in a respectful, dignified manner to alleviate anxiety and ensure comfort.
• Maintain a high standard of personal conduct and clinical care in line with CHG policies.
• Develop clinical and technical skills through training, mentorship and reflection.
• Contribute to a safe and efficient theatre environment through stock control and equipment turnover.

We have an opportunity for an Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in theTheatre department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• - Assist in delivering safe and effective care across the theatre department, supporting patients throughout their surgical pathway.
• - Prepare theatres for procedures, including equipment checks, stock preparation, and ensuring the environment is clean and ready.
• - Engage with patients in a respectful, dignified, and empathetic manner, helping to alleviate anxiety and ensure comfort.
• - Maintain a high standard of personal conduct and clinical care in accordance with CHG policies and the HCA framework.
• - Take responsibility for developing your own clinical and technical skills through training, mentorship, and reflection.
• - Contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient theatre environment through stock control, timely equipment turnover, and adherence to clinical standards.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• - Previous experience working in a clinical or healthcare support role.
• - Good verbal and written communication skills with a compassionate, patient-centred approach.
• - Willingness to undertake training and competency development in theatre-specific care.
• - Understanding of infection control, safeguarding, and basic health and safety principles.
