Job summary

Staveleigh Medical Centre is recruiting a Healthcare Assistant to work with GPs and nurses in primary care. The role focuses on patient-facing clinical tasks such as blood sampling, measurements, ECGs, and injections, with part-time hours and potential progression to full-time.

Qualifications

• Recognised phlebotomy qualification.
• Previous healthcare experience.
• Experience taking blood samples and handling confidential information.
• Experience following clinical procedures and infection control protocols.

Responsibilities

• Take blood samples following patient identification procedures.
• Measure and record blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, BMI and other observations.
• Carry out diabetic foot checks and support long-term condition reviews.
• Perform ECGs and document findings for clinical review.
• Administer injections where trained and authorised.
• Support NHS Health Checks and preventative care.
• Carry out urine testing and other investigations as required.
• Prepare clinical rooms and equipment for appointments.
• Escalate abnormal findings to a clinician.
• Provide clear information to patients about appointments and procedures.
• Collaborate with GPs, nurses and the practice team to ensure safe care.
