The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a part-time healthcare assistant to support the Health in Justice service at HMP Full Sutton, a high-security men's prison.

The role involves clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, venepuncture and ECGs, working with the Primary Care team and alongside a registered nurse. Shift pattern is 22.5 hours weekly on a 4-week rolling rota, including occasional weekends.

Formación

• Experience in a clinical care setting.
• Clinical experience including venepuncture and ECGs.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver patient care in the healthcare department and on the wings.
• Support implementation of clinical care packages including phlebotomy, assessment, treatment and evaluation of care.
• Support the primary care nursing team across all aspects of care including venepuncture.
• Support clinics including bloods, ECGs and weight checks.
• Assist with second receptions for new prisoners on day five alongside the registered nurse.
• Act as second checker in pharmacy as required.
• Take ownership of a specific area of care such as social care, bloodborne viruses or health promotion.
• Work in the substance misuse team when required.

Healthcare assistant post in the Primary Care team at HMP Full Sutton, a high-security men's prison, with Practice Plus Group's Health in Justice service. Support covers clinics, phlebotomy and venepuncture, ECGs, pharmacy second checking and reception health checks for new arrivals, working alongside a registered nurse. The post is part time, 22.5 hours a week on a 4-week rolling rota of three 7.5-hour day shifts, with about one weekend in four. Offers need vetting and security checks, and applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

What the job involves
