Healthcare Support Worker - Nutrition Support Team

Are you an enthusiastic Healthcare Support Worker with a passion for nutrition? We are recruiting to join our Nutrition Support team, working alongside specialist nurses to provide support and training to patients receiving nutritional support.

Role Overview:

• Assist consultants and Clinical Nurse Specialists in clinics.
• Support patients with nutritional needs in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
• Collaborate with professionals such as Pharmacists and Dietitians.

The Nutrition team offers training, support, and guidance for patients on enteral or parenteral nutrition, including arranging training and troubleshooting queries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform basic nursing activities under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Support patients receiving nutritional support.
• Participate in the development of yourself and others.
• Assist with patient placement, training, and ongoing care for those requiring feeding via a tube.
• Be flexible and work across all areas of the department as needed.
• Manage messages and direct them to the appropriate clinician.
• Order nutrition supplies from stock control.
• Participate in enteral/parenteral clinics.

We are based on Level 8 Hutchings Outpatient Unit, working closely with colorectal, stoma, and outpatient teams to provide excellent patient care.
