Job description

Job Title: Healthcare Assistant (Full & Part Time)

We are offering full and part-time positions for enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistants to join our Theatre teams at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist with patient care within the theatre team, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  2. Participate in maintaining cleanliness, tidiness, and stock levels in theatres and related areas.
  3. Support effective communication within the department and across the Trust.
  4. Contribute to the development of team members by sharing knowledge and skills.
  5. Monitor and uphold health, safety, and security standards for patients, visitors, and staff.
  6. Assist in decontamination, sterilization, and equipment maintenance procedures.
  7. Support compliance with health and safety legislation, including COSHH and Risk Management policies.
  8. Help ensure patient comfort, dignity, and reassurance throughout their theatre experience.
  9. Assist in patient transfers, specimen collection, and stock management as required.
  10. Perform reception duties, including data entry and communication with other departments.
