Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Health Care Assistant to join a GP practice in Margate. The role focuses on supporting the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

You will help manage patient flow, perform observations, assist with ECGs and sampling, and contribute to delivering high-quality care within an organised primary care environment.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
