Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant to join a GP practice in Witham. The role supports the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

You will help manage patient flow and assist with core clinical duties, contributing to high-quality care delivery in a well‑structured primary care environment. Morning and afternoon sessions are available with options for long‑term block bookings.

Qualifications

• Experience as HCA in primary care or NHS
• Enhanced DBS
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations
• Good communication and patient interaction skills
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical observations (BP, pulse, temperature, SpO2)
• Support treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Complete ECGs and assist with routine patient assessments
• Provide lifestyle advice and support health promotion
• Update patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assist clinicians with general tasks as required

Requirements

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS
