Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Healthcare Assistant to work in a GP practice in Hailsham. The role involves supporting the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

You will help manage patient flow, assist with core clinical duties and contribute to high-quality care delivery in an organised primary care setting. DBS enhanced disclosure is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with primary care or NHS settings preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable performing clinical observations.
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• DBS enhanced disclosure.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temp, and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures and routine duties.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling if trained.
• Completing ECGs and routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and health promotion.
• Updating patient records in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required

Requirements

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS
• Phlebotomy experience desirable
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations
• Good communication and patient interaction skills
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation
• Enhanced DBS
