Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to work with a GP practice in Emsworth. You will support the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

This role offers ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions to fit your availability, with opportunities to contribute to high-quality care and patient flow in a supportive primary care environment.

Experience in primary care or NHS and DBS clearance are valued.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
