Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Batley. You will assist clinical staff with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity to help deliver high-quality care.

This role offers ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions, morning and afternoon slots, and the chance to contribute to smooth patient flow within a structured primary care setting.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required

You will be part of an organised primary care environment where you will help manage patient flow, assist with core clinical duties and contribute to high-quality care delivery. The practice offers strong support and clear guidance to ensure every session runs smoothly.
