Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum HCA to work in a GP practice in Wednesbury. The role supports the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity within an organised primary care environment.

You will help manage patient flow, assist with core clinical duties and contribute to high-quality care delivery. The practice provides strong support, clear guidance, and ensures sessions run smoothly for long-term block bookings.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS is required.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
