Albany House Medical Centre is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and proactive Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our friendly and patient-focused primary care team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care within a busy GP practice environment.

Working under the supervision of the nursing team and GPs, the successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the delivery of clinical services, health promotion activities, and preventative care to our patient population. The Healthcare Assistant will contribute to ensuring patients receive safe, effective, and professional care while helping to maintain smooth day-to-day clinical operations.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care within a busy GP practice.

The role combines Healthcare Assistant and Phlebotomy responsibilities, including carrying out routine clinical procedures, undertaking venepuncture clinics, assisting with patient health assessments, recording clinical observations, and supporting health promotion activities. The post holder will work closely with the Practice Nursing Team and GPs to ensure patients receive safe, effective, and compassionate care, while contributing to the efficient running of clinical services.

Purpose:To assist the GPs and practice nurse team in the service and delivery of thecare management of the practice populationResponsible to: Senior practice nurses, practice manager and, ultimately, theGP Partners.

Jobsummary

Thepost holder works under indirect supervision of the practice nurse team leaderand undertakes task and duties delegated by the practice nurse team leader or asuitably qualified regulated professional. They will work collaboratively withthe general practice team to meet the needs of patients, following policy andprocedures.
