Job summary

Alliance Medical in Sidcup is recruiting a Healthcare Assistant to support the PET-CT team at Queen Mary’s Hospital. The role is full-time (40 hours per week) with a focus on patient care, administration and assisting Radiographers during scans. Training for IV cannulation is provided if needed.

The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of radiographers, practitioners and staff, and will contribute to the patient pathway while maintaining high standards of safety and care.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a healthcare environment with a patient-centred focus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good IT and administration skills.
  • Willingness to undergo IV cannulation training if not already trained.

  • Assisting in patient preparation and chaperoning.

Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our PET-CT team and Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup. You will need to demonstrate experience working in healthcare environment with a patient centred focus. This is a full time role, working 40 hours per week.

You will be working with a dedicated team of Senior Radiographers/Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners, HCA’s, and administrative staff.

The candidate should have experience in a Healthcare environment as they will be required to provide both administration and customer/patient, support including chaperoning patients and assisting the Radiographers throughout the scanning process. They will also have a commitment to some admin duties related to the patient pathway in line with standard guidelines. To be successful in this role they must have good communication skills both written and verbal, together with good IT and administration skills and the ability to understand and comply with radiation protection protocols. Excellent patient care skills are essential.

You will also be required to IV cannulate patients as part of the role. Rest assured, should you not have any prior experience in IV cannlation, we will provide full training.

Attention to detail is key, along with being flexible, organized and having an enthusiastic attitude.

You will need to be able to work with a high degree of accuracy and under pressure, meeting deadlines and turn- around times.

To be successful in this role you must have good communication skills both written and verbal, together with good IT and administration skills. A flexible, organized and enthusiastic attitude is essential with a good attention to detail.

In this role you will be supporting Radiographers during patients scans. It will also involve assisting patients and chaperoning when necessary. There may also be an aspect of administration as a key element of the role is to make telephone bookings for patients attending our services.

To be successful in this role you must have good communication skills both written and verbal, together with good IT and administration skills. A flexible, organized and enthusiastic attitude is essential.
