Job summary

Nuffield Health is seeking a Healthcare Assistant for Outpatients at Wessex Hospital. You will bring a patient-focused approach, strong communication, and IT literacy to support clinicians across several specialties.

This bank, part-time role involves weekend work and flexible hours. You will assist in dressings, wound care, and general clinic operations, contributing to a high standard of patient care within a leading charity hospital.

Qualifications

• Qualified with an NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, with relevant experience in an acute hospital or care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist colleagues in Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Neurosurgery, Plastics Surgery, ENT, Cardiology, GP Services, Psychiatry and Physiotherapy.
• Enjoy more time to care for patients as individuals.
• Manage a wide range of activities and changing priorities.
• Make sure the day-to-day operations of our various clinics run smoothly.
• Assist consultants and nurses with procedures, such as dressings and wound care.

Role Summary

As a Healthcare Assistant in Outpatients at our hospital, you’ll bring relevant experience, a keen eye for detail and a flexible approach. Contract

Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.

Wessex Hospital Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital is a stunning 46 bedded private hospital in West Hampshire with specialisms in Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Urology, Women’s Health and Spinal surgery. The hospital also benefits from having onsite Radiology, Pathology, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy so we can give our patients a complete package of care. There are 16 consulting rooms with speciality outpatient rooms, 46 private patient bedrooms with en-suite facilities, 24 hr resident doctor on site (RMO) and four operating theatres and one endoscopy suite.
