Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is inviting applications for a Business Administration Apprentice (Level 2) based in the Central Genomics Laboratory at St James’s University Hospital. The fixed-term 15‑month programme offers hands-on healthcare administration experience, training with an external provider, and a pathway to a substantive administrative role within the Trust.

Salary is £25,272 per annum (AfC Band 2).

Qualifications

• Eligibility: If you already hold a Level 2 or higher qualification in Business Administration or Customer Service, you are not eligible for this training role.
• Comprehensive on-the-job training and mentorship will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Sample Logistics & Coordination: collating and preparing sending sheets for genomic samples across the region.
• Clinical Documentation: issuing diagnostic reports, scanning paperwork, and uploading data files to the booking system.
• Front-of-House & Reception Support: handling queries, greeting visitors, deliveries, and internal paper distribution.
• Communication & Triage: assisting with daily admin email triage and management.
• Meeting & Quality Support: transcribing minutes and supporting quality management tasks.
