Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust invites applications for a Business Administration Apprentice (Level 2) based in the Central Genomics Laboratory at St James’s University Hospital. This fixed‑term 15‑month programme provides hands‑on healthcare administration experience with external training support.

You will learn under experienced colleagues, with mentoring from the Organisational Learning team and a pathway onto a substantive admin role on successful completion.

Qualifications

• Motivated individual eager to learn in a healthcare admin role.
• Comprehensive training provided with on‑the‑job support.
• Successful applicants complete Maths/English online assessment.

Responsibilities

• Support genomic sample logistics and coordination.
• Issue diagnostic reports, scan paperwork, and upload data to the booking system.
• Provide Front‑of‑House and reception support: handle calls, greet visitors, manage deliveries.
• Triage daily admin emails and assist with meeting minutes and quality tasks.
• Carry out routine administrative duties to support the laboratory team.
