An established industry player is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to oversee health and safety services across various sites. The Health and Safety Manager will support Atlas on health & safety matters, working closely with specialists within Atlas covering energy, sustainability, and fire safety, in managing KPIs for Health & Safety. Duties include the production of risk assessments, advising service users on health & safety management, auditing contractors, reviewing RAMS, and issuing permits to work. The manager will oversee the monitoring and management of health & safety services across a range of sites, both acute and community-based, in several locations.
The role requires a skilled professional with experience in providing health & safety advice within an organization of similar size and complexity. The manager will lead the development and implementation of health and safety programs, act as the expert advisor, and plan inspection and audit schedules. They will also lead the development of effective health and safety management systems compliant with current standards and legislation.
The manager should be adept at dealing with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal management and employees, external client representatives, contractors, and professionals such as architects and surveyors. They will also provide assurance and audit arrangements to demonstrate compliance with relevant standards and legal requirements.
The role offers autonomy within agreed boundaries, requiring the post holder to act independently, escalate issues appropriately, and refer to relevant agencies or senior management when necessary.
Excellent IT skills are essential, including the ability to produce and present reports. The role involves working closely with clients, IPCC, clinical users, and external organizations to ensure compliance with legislative obligations and support on related matters.
