Brief Description

Provide professional health and safety advice and support to Regional delivery/Major Projects teams, coordinate Infrastructure Projects activities, and ensure compliance with the Network Rail Health and Safety Management System and relevant standards.

Key Accountabilities

1. Support project teams on health and safety matters to ensure successful project execution.
2. Lead/guide project teams with health and safety direction, including HSEA specialists where applicable.
3. Lead meetings with contractors to share best practices and lessons learned.
4. Monitor safety and environmental performance of projects, ensuring consistent safety practices.
5. Assist project teams in improving health & safety performance.
6. Support accident and incident investigations and implement recommendations.
7. Act as the main contact for health and safety with HMRI and other organizations.
8. Coordinate health & safety activities across programs and regions.

Job Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

Essential

• Member of IOSH at CertIOSH level or above.
• Significant experience managing HSEA issues in construction or rail industries.
• Project Safety Management course.

Desirable

• NEBOSH diploma, IEMA certificate.
• Experience as a health and safety or environmental practitioner.
• Knowledge of Behavioral Change techniques.
• Familiarity with Network Rail's systems and standards.
• Understanding of rules, regulations, and standards for contractor safety.
