Job Purpose
Are you ready to make a real impact on health and safety in transportation? We are seeking a Transport Health and Safety Manager to lead efforts in ensuring the well-being of our employees, contractors, visitors, and fleet operations. Your responsibilities will include developing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, fostering a safety culture, maintaining legal compliance, and ensuring safe fleet operations in accordance with the Operators’ Licence. Key Responsibilities
- Health and Safety & Compliance Management: Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies across the transport network, ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations. Conduct risk assessments, maintain records, and oversee safety standards through regular meetings and audits.
- Training and Development: Create and deliver health and safety training programs, including Driver CPC courses, and update training materials to reflect current regulations.
- Audit and Risk Management: Conduct safety audits, manage driver hours compliance, and oversee vehicle maintenance practices to ensure adherence to standards.
- Accident and Incident Monitoring: Monitor accident patterns, lead investigations, and implement corrective actions to reduce incidents.
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead the Compliance and Driver Trainer teams, ensuring consistent safety standards across locations.
- O Licence Compliance & DVSA Coverage: Manage the Operator’s Licence compliance, including vehicle and driver records, and ensure DVSA regulations are met.
- Emergency Preparedness & Crisis Management: Develop emergency response plans, conduct drills, and ensure staff readiness for emergencies.
Qualifications & Experience
- NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent Level 6 Health and Safety qualification.
- At least 3 years of experience in a health and safety role within a similar industry.
- Experience managing health and safety in a complex or multi-site environment.
Desirable Skills
- Experience as a Health and Safety Manager in transport or logistics.
- Transport Manager CPC qualification.
- Proven track record in safety training, fleet management, and compliance management across multiple sites.
