Job summary

Gordon Moody Association seeks a Health & Safety Facilities Officer HSE to oversee on-site health, safety and facilities at our Redditch centre (B97) or Wolverhampton site. This part-time role (21 hours) covers risk assessments, safety audits and ensuring a safe, supportive environment for residents, staff and visitors.

You will report to the Director of Operations and work with managers, contractors and regulators to drive continuous safety improvements across Gordon Moody’s residential

Qualifications

• NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
• A relevant health and safety qualification and good knowledge of compliance requirements within residential, community-based or other regulated services.
• Experience of undertaking workplace assessments and recommending practical adjustments for employees with disabilities, health conditions or neurodiverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead health and safety arrangements across residential, office and community-based services to promote a positive safety culture.
• Carry out risk assessments and site inspections, identify actions to reduce risk and support compliance with health and safety and equality legislation.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, maintain records and implement preventative actions.
• Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation through audits and monitoring.
• Develop and improve health and safety systems, records and procedures, tracking remedial actions.
• Provide guidance and training to managers and staff on health, safety and wellbeing.
• Act as main point of contact for health and safety matters with managers, HR, external agencies, contractors and regulators.
• Coordinate maintenance issues and ensure premises and equipment remain safe and well maintained.
• Prepare reports and provide updates to senior management for continuous improvement.
