We have an exciting and rare opportunity to join an international business based in Medway.

Role: Health & Safety Coordinator

Hours: full time, no hybrid working available

Location: Medway – must have own transport

The Health & Safety Coordinator/Manager role is responsible for supporting all Department Managers in ensuring that the organisation complies with all current and future HS legislation. They will also be responsible for the promotion and maintenance of a safe working environment for all company employees, contractors and visitors.

Health & Safety Coordinator/Manager Qualifications:
  • Recognised H&S qualification is required at certificate level.
Health & Safety Coordinator/Manager Essential Experience:
  • Proven experience as an HS Advisor for at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Practical experience of interpreting HS legal requirements and explaining to staff at all levels the implications for the business.
  • Practical experience of translating HS legal requirements into pragmatic solutions.
  • Practical experience of carrying out Risk Assessments and COSHH assessments.
  • Practical experience of managing and auditing contractors’ activities.
Health & Safety Coordinator/Manager - as the right fit you should:
  • Be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Be self-motivated, energetic and independent.
  • Be confident, diplomatic, assertive, but non-confrontational.
  • A genuine team player.
  • Inquisitive with a drive to improve.
  • Able to find innovative ways to communicate and generate interest in HS, updating noticeboards and generating HS briefings.
  • Ability to prioritise changing demands and workload.
  • Some experience in the development and delivery of training programmes.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
