Job description

Our Ways of Working Principles:

We believe that most of us do our best work when we work together, but we know that everyone works in different ways, and quite frankly, has other commitments and responsibilities outside of work.

As we further adjust to hybrid working, we want to take what we've learnt from working remotely and keep the flexibility that's enabled us to thrive and keep driving our business forward.

We have some core principles which support us in this:

Do what’s right

Trust & give permission

Delivery matters

We understand ways of working can look different based on your role, team and you as an individual so we are here to support and discuss this with you during the interview process.

What You’ll Be Doing

You'll work closely with our HSE Manager and the wider team to ensure our Tamworth site operates a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in maintaining and monitoring the H&S Cards system, ensuring all documents are uploaded, in date and relevant.
  2. Ensure that all risk assessments, SOPs, SSOW & COSHH for all activities are conducted and reviewed at relevant intervals and maintain records.
  3. Prepare and communicate toolbox talks and safety alerts, deliver training and record colleague signatures on training sheets – maintain training matrix and escalate any training gaps. Manage health and wellbeing promotional campaigns.
  4. Oversee H&S training of agency colleagues.
  5. Ensure PPE compliance and promote best practices amongst colleagues.
  6. Chair and update minutes from HSE meetings, pursue closure on actions, and escalate where necessary.
  7. Manage contractors prior to accessing the site, during, and on exiting – including paperwork, permit to work, defects, equipment suitability, follow-up requirements, and site H&S inductions.
  8. Support investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses, sharing lessons learned.

You'll be a great addition to the team if you:

  1. Hold an IOSH qualification and are willing to work towards an NEBOSH qualification.
  2. Can make decisions and challenge when needed to deliver a great customer experience.
  3. Can think on your feet and perform under pressure.
  4. Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  5. Continuously promote a positive team environment.
  6. Have strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
