Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited is seeking a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor for West Midlands multi-site projects. You will promote safety culture, conduct investigations and inspections, and help manage CDM compliance on varied construction schemes including schools and industrial buildings.

The role requires NEBOSH and IOSH qualifications, strong IT skills, and the ability to train and influence teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction health and safety roles.
• NEBOSH certificate required (general/construction).
• IOSH Environmental training or equivalent.
• Experience compiling project H&S plans and documentation.
• Strong IT skills with MS Office suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence at all levels.
• Full clean driving license.

Responsibilities

• Act as a role model for safety and health across projects.
• Participate in safety campaigns and initiatives.
• Carry out incident investigations and H&S inspections/audits.
• Collect and report health and safety information and statistics.
• Assist in training related to safety procedures.
• Represent the company at H&S meetings and events.
• Review risk assessments and method statements.
• Support sub-contractor risk assessments and MT statements.
• Ensure CDM 2015 compliance and assist with tender activity.

Job description

Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor - West Midlands (multi-site regional role) - £50k-£60k+car/car allowance and benefits - well established PC working on and providing health, safety and wellbeing support on varied construction (building) schemes including schools, universities, student accommodation, industrial building.

Responsibilities & Duties will include:

• Act as a role model in the approach to all safety, health related matters, thereby supporting the business in developing the culture within the project teams.
• Participate and promote relevant Safety campaigns/initiatives.
• Carry out incident/accident investigation and H&S inspections/audits.
• Assist in the collection, monitoring and distribution of relevant Health & Safety information and accident statistics for internal and external reporting
• Assist in training relating to company and client Safety procedures and practices.
• Represent the company at H&S meetings and other events.
• Assist with the review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements for operations.
• Assist the project teams in reviewing sub-contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statement
• Ensure project compliance with CDM 2015
• Assist with the H&S support of project PQQs and tendering activities

It is essential that the jobholder is a focused self-starter with the enthusiasm, motivation and the initiative to succeed in this role.

The jobholder must possess

• A sound working knowledge of all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations and guidance (and their impact on day-to-day operational activities), gained from a role within a construction environment.
• NEBOSH general/construction certificate
• IOSH Environmental training – or equivalent
• Experience in compiling project H&S plans and documentation
• Strong IT Skills with the ability to utilise Microsoft office package.
• Evidence of good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence others at both an operational and management level.
• A full clean driving license

Desirable

• Experience in the the construction industry.
• Experience of interfacing with external customers to ensure our employees adhere to their safety procedures, policies, and work practices to the full satisfaction of the client company.
• A sound working knowledge in the application and monitoring of, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
• HND / Degree in a relevant discipline and / or additional safety related qualifications or membership of relevant professional body.
