Job summary

Anderselite is seeking a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to join its West Midlands multi-site team. The role focuses on promoting safety, investigating incidents, and supporting campaigns across varied construction schemes, including education and industrial buildings.

You will compile H&S plans, monitor compliance with CDM 2015, and contribute to tendering and client audits. A NEBOSH cert and IOSH training, plus MS Office proficiency, are essential.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate required or equivalent.
• IOSH Environmental training or equivalent.
• Experience compiling project H&S plans and documentation.
• Strong IT skills with MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence.

Responsibilities

• Act as role model for safety and wellbeing across project teams.
• Support safety campaigns and initiatives.
• Conduct incident investigations and H&S inspections/audits.
• Collect, monitor and report relevant H&S information and statistics.
• Deliver safety training to staff and contractors.
• Represent the company at H&S meetings and events.
• Review risk assessments and method statements for operations.
• Assist with sub-contractor risk assessments and MT statements.
• Ensure CDM 2015 compliance across projects.
• Support H&S during tendering and PQQ activities.
• Be a proactive self-starter focused on role success.

Job description

Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor - West Midlands (multi-site regional role) - £50k-£60k+car/car allowance and benefits - well established PC working on and providing health, safety and wellbeing support on varied construction (building) schemes including schools, universities, student accommodation, industrial building.

Responsibilities & Duties will include:

• Act as a role model in the approach to all safety, health related matters, thereby supporting the business in developing the culture within the project teams.
• Participate and promote relevant Safety campaigns/initiatives.
• Carry out incident/accident investigation and H&S inspections/audits.
• Assist in the collection, monitoring and distribution of relevant Health & Safety information and accident statistics for internal and external reporting
• Assist in training relating to company and client Safety procedures and practices.
• Represent the company at H&S meetings and other events.
• Assist with the review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements for operations.
• Assist the project teams in reviewing sub-contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statement
• Ensure project compliance with CDM 2015
• Assist with the H&S support of project PQQs and tendering activities
• It is essential that the jobholder is a focused self-starter with the enthusiasm, motivation and the initiative to succeed in this role.

The jobholder must possess

• A sound working knowledge of all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations and guidance (and their impact on day-to-day operational activities), gained from a role within a construction environment.
• NEBOSH general/construction certificate
• IOSH Environmental training - or equivalent
• Experience in compiling project H&S plans and documentation
• Strong IT Skills with the ability to utilise Microsoft office package.
• Evidence of good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence others at both an operational and management level.
• A full clean driving license

Desirable

• Experience in the the construction industry.
• Experience of interfacing with external customers to ensure our employees adhere to their safety procedures, policies, and work practices to the full satisfaction of the client company.
• A sound working knowledge in the application and monitoring of, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
• HND / Degree in a relevant discipline and / or additional safety related qualifications or membership of relevant professional body
