CleanEarth is seeking a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to promote and maintain a strong safety culture across our renewable energy operations. You will ensure compliance with legislation and company policies while supporting project teams to deliver work safely and efficiently.

The role covers RAMS review, site inspections, incident investigation, and collaboration with external safety consultants to continually improve processes. Office-based with site visits; driving license required.

Qualifications

  • Experience as Health & Safety Advisor in construction or renewables.
  • Experience reviewing RAMS and approving safety documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Review RAMS prior to works and suggest improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures on site.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits; implement corrective actions.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformances; produce reports.
  • Monitor compliance with UK legislation and industry standards.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Support contractor pre-qualification and competency assessments.
  • Provide practical health and safety advice to management and site teams.
  • Travel to sites as required; drive license held.

Job Description:

CleanEarth are looking for a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our team. This is a hands‑on role responsible for promoting and maintaining a strong health and safety culture across our operations. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with relevant legislation, company policies, and industry best practices while supporting operational teams to deliver work safely and efficiently.

In addition to H&S responsibilities, the role will provide support to our various teams on ad hoc matters to assist with the coordination and delivery of renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Review, assess, and improve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) prior to works commencing.
  • Ensure all employees, subcontractors, and visitors comply with company health and safety procedures and safe working practices.
  • Carry out regular site inspections and health & safety audits, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and non‑conformances, producing reports and recommending any preventative measures.
  • Monitor compliance with relevant UK health and safety legislation and industry standards.
  • Work closely with external health & safety consultants and advisors to maintain compliance continually improve the company processes.
  • Supporting the development, review, and implementation of health & safety policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and promote a positive health and safety culture throughout our business.
  • Assist with contractor pre‑qualification and competency assessments.
  • Provide practical health and safety advice to management, project teams, and site personnel.
  • Support the wider CE team with ad hoc tasks as and when required.
  • Experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role within construction, electrical, renewable energy or a very similar environment.
  • Experience reviewing and approving RAMS.
  • Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
  • Methodical, accurate and process focused approach.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Excelled report‑writing skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel.
  • Office based with a requirement to attend site when necessary.
  • Driving License.
Strong Preference:
  • Experience within the Solar PV or renewable energy sector.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications
