Job summary

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in New York State is seeking a Health Information Management Coordinator (RP-N) to perform complex medical records functions and ensure accuracy and timely processing in the HIM department.

The role supports compliance with TJC, HIPAA, and RPCCC policies, participates in regulatory surveys, and may perform duties of lower-level Medical Records Associates. Starting pay is $22.79/hour with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Health Information Management or related field.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIM processes.
• Experience with documentation retention and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex medical records functions with high-level decision making.
• Maintains accuracy and integrity of the medical record and timeliness of processing.
• Monitors compliance with TJC standards, HIPAA, and RPCCC policies.
• Supports regulatory surveys and major HIM initiatives.

Education

Associate’s degree in Health Information Management program

Associate’s degree in a health-related field with 1 year HIM experience

Associate’s degree with 2 years HIM experience

High School diploma with 3 years Roswell Park HIM experience

High School diploma with 4 years clinical or administrative health care experience
