Job summary

Sewell Group is seeking a Building Manager in Hull to oversee two health centres. You’ll manage maintenance, porterage, safety compliance, and tenant coordination across the facilities, reporting to the Facilities Manager. A trades background and proactive approach are essential.

Extra duties include supporting emergency response, liaising with subcontractors, and ensuring high service standards. An Enhanced DBS check is required and some out‑of‑hours work may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Full Driving Licence, UK valid and own transport.
• Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
• Trade background or strong practical maintenance experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
• Proactive attitude to maintaining facilities at world‑class quality.
• Excellent communication to liaise with Tenant Groups and subcontractors.
• Good organisational skills and task prioritisation.
• Flexible with hours; some out‑of‑hours work may be required.
• Solid knowledge of Health and Safety practices.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance and repairs to building fabric and equipment.
• Plan and perform reactive maintenance with mobile teams support.
• Identify, report and repair faults or defects promptly.
• Supervise and induct subcontractors.
• Support Facilities Manager as required.
• Uphold Health & Safety standards for safe operations.
• Liaise with tenants and coordinate activities.
• Act as main key holder for Sewell properties.
• Use FM helpdesks to report issues and manage tasks.
• undertake porterage, cleaning duties, deliveries, and furniture setup.
