A regional healthcare provider in Andover is looking for a Health Care Support Worker to assist in maintaining high standards of patient care in the Day Surgery Unit and Endoscopy department. Job Overview

The role of a Health Care Support Worker is to assist, provide and maintain a high standard of patient care in the Day Surgery Unit & Endoscopy department for patients before, during and after procedures, including de‑contamination.

This position supports the nursing team in procedure rooms, recovery, discharge, de‑contamination and occasional reception, always following Trust and national guidance. The focus is on delivering high quality, compassionate healthcare to patients of Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in a wide range of endoscopy procedures, including colonoscopy, gastroscopy, and flexible sigmoidoscopy.
  • Support the nursing team in procedure rooms, recovery, discharge, de‑contamination and occasional reception.
  • Assist the de‑contamination team with tracking and specialised cleaning of endoscopes.
  • Maintain high standards of patient care before, during and after procedures in a busy unit.

  • Willingness to work at Andover Hospital and, on occasion, other Trust sites.
